Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a prized Ayurvedic herb grown in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka & China. It is also found naturally growing in Africa, south Eastern Europe & Asia. In Sanskrit the name Ashwagandha translates roughly to “horse-like smell” referencing both the smell as well as the strengthening & aphrodisiac action of the herb.
